On the slopes of the Shar Mountains, in the village Zlipotok,Dragash communities, in the south of Kosovo, children celebrating Baba Marta. From the early hours of the morning dressed with bells visiting the village and by the host receiving gifts (eggs, flour, oil, money, etc.)
The roots of the myth of Baba Marta advocating very deep into history. March was the month when men, after hibernation, often moving in military campaigns. Women, unhappy and frightened for their husbands, the rules are small woolen figures as amulets against evil spirits. Dolls also had a task to conciliate Baba Marta in order not to often changed mood.
That custom is still kept at the Bulgarians, but also in southern Serbia and Kosovo, but each with some differences.
