Women in Kosovo continue to face difficulties that adversely affect their participation in public life.
An event was held to promote the empowerment of women through the development of working capacity in the municipality of Dragash.
As he says Xhejrana Lokaj, a member of the Association of Women's Initiative, a local women's NGO in Dragash dealing with issues of gender equality in Dragass (small town in the south of Kosovo, located 100 kilometers south of Prishtina) participation of the municipality of women in public life is almost negligible.
However, these things are slowly changing.
The project "Promoting the empowerment of women through the development of working capacity in the municipality of Dragash" was jointly supported by the OSCE and the municipality Dragash and implemented by the partner organization of the Association of Women's Initiative, a local women's NGO working on issues of gender equality in this area.
This event is the culmination of activities including a three-month course for hairdressers and tailoring courses, women from the Albanian, Bosniak and Gorani communities in the municipality of Dragash, training in starting businesses and writing projects.
The project included forty women.
At the end of the ceremony the women who were involved in the project received certificates.
